This post discusses why you might want to reconsider how your posts and pages are display in addition to the reasons why you might want to change your site titles, too.

My buddy Mike does well for a lot of his targeted terms and really knows his SEO and I sometimes look to see what he’s doing to see if there’s anything I’m missing out on…

He outranks me for a lot of terms that are medium to long-tail and kicks butt with Adsense because of this…

As I mentioned in part one of the Advanced OnPage SEO article, sites evolve over time, and take a life of their own.

Originally I started to create a review site and ended up really liking this topic so I just kept reviewing more and more link building services.

But along with reviews of services I needed to offer some decent SEO advice, link building tips, warnings and what-not in order to have my reviews and recommendations to be believable.

Link building myth – getting bad backlinks can hurt you

There’s a lot of talk in marketing forums, webmaster forums and of course, sales pages, that mention how getting bad backlinks can cause your site to get banned de-indexed, sand-boxed etc…

This is so dead wrong and defies common sense…

Look at it this way, if getting backlinks from “bad places” could cause your site harm then wouldn’t your competitors be able to figure this out and quickly make your site go “bye-bye”?

So, if you build a purely white-hat site with quality backlinks from trusted domains and have 100% unique content on your site, that STILL leaves you vulnerable to penalties form the search engines if you or someone else gets backlinks from bad neighborhoods or from spammy sites?
