Since this is one of my heavier trafficked sites, I thought I’d (try to ) direct your attention towards a free wordpress plugin for CPA offers, Adsense and list building I had developed based on some ideas I had brewing in my head.
An explanation of what this plugin does has been spelled out on the download site for this target subscribers plugin but I’m going to get into more details here…
Most CPA marketers, Adsense owners, bloggers, affiliate marketers etc… advertise either a single optin form or a single affiliate ad on their sites via exit popup or at the end of their posts, and that’s really self-limiting in a way because a lot of sites talk about various topics and sell various items, but they do not offer targeted ads on each and every page/post/url…
Let’s say you’re the typical CPA marketer promoting one particular CPA offer…
You got the big banner ad prominently displayed at the top of every url on your site
Or you have the same ad at the bottom of every url
But how can you rotate these ads to see which ones work best?
How can you display multiple CPA ads on different posts to achieved a more targeted, more interesting ad that might convert better since it’s an ad/offer that’s hand-picked by you to display on categories on a certain topic?
With the Targeted Subscribers/Ads plugin you will be able to place ads/ad code at the end of your content based on what category they’re in, so if you have a weight-loss site and on this weight loss site you have content in categories for green tea, calorie shifting, diet pill, Jenny Craig, WeighWatcher’s etc….then at the end of these categories you will be able to place the most appropriate ads, banners or even just optin forms.
With this plugin you can
- create default “code” that displays on every url
- place code at beginning, middle, or end of content
- place code on last comment in comments area
- choose to not display anything on Pages (for blogs)
- display ads or optin forms to build list or get clicks on targeted ads
Since I’m by no means an Adsense expert, all that I can tell you is you can change the positioning or your ad displays with 3 options, but size of ads are not very customizable with this plugin.
The smart marketers realize the value of this type of ad-targeting and will know how to use it best and tweak it to get better performance out of their sites.
Less advanced marketers, once they understand what this plugin really does upon downloading and installing it, will soon see the benefits of providing more user-friendly “options” to their visitors.
NOTES:
This plugin for some reason didn’t work well with Thesis and Aweber forms, but has no issues with any other themes that I’m aware of, and it does OK with Thesis for banner ads and codes.
This is not an exit popup plugin, but a plugin that works on your sites without being as intrusive as the pesky exit popups you see even on my site you’re on now.
This is a wordpress plugin only and doesn’t work with other CMS-es yet, maybe never…I had it built for my own purposes to fulfill a perceived need (provide targeted newsletters optin forms and ads).
