In this post I’m going to bloviate, err…..discuss some other on-page optimization factors that go beyond the basics discussed in the on page optimization factors post.
If you’re a long -time or even short time reader of this blog then you might notice I make tons of typos then go back and fix them. To me the content is what it’s all about, the rest of the stuff can be fixed later.
The same holds true for your websites and their evolution over time. sometimes your website idea morphs form one thing into something else entirely. For example, I originally set this site up to be a LinkVana review site, but if you read the About LV Reviews page here, you’ll see why and how things have changed, and for the better, I might add.
So let’s discuss site evolution and what that means exactly…
As I mentioned above, this site started off as a review site, therefore domain name was perfect for getting easy serps for the review terms.
But then I started branching out, and reviewing other link building services which meant that the site title should be changed to attracted people search for link building services reviews, or for link building services.
As time progressed this site gets page 1 SERPs usually for the terms link building services reviews, or for link building services, link building service or any mashups of those terms.
What I’ve been doing is adjusting site title to get ranked for long-tail terms first via domain name and site title, then occasionally changing the site title as progress and site evolution changes.
At the time of the writing this site is page 1 and 2 for terms link building and linkbuilding so I made what I hope to be one of the final site title changes.

what googlebot sees in your website?hmm…well they can only “see” is ‘text’ for them to categorize and indexed your website…they dont really care how good your design is…and of course the ‘relevancy’ of the content. Therefore, put great information in your content for them to hunt you down
