I realize there always so much to do and learn with SEO, link building, marketing etc… so this post will be devoted to one thing and one thing only; making the Twitter Link wheel.

This can be considered a fleshed-out addition to post on the Effective + Automated Link wheels Set up and what’s written here is consistent with the philosophy espoused in that post.

Before I begin, let me say that link wheels do work if you put the time into building up, promoting and backlinking to all your satellite sites, (your outer ring of 3d party-controlled, Web 2.0 properties linking inwardly to your main sites at some point).

Linkwheels results from the link wheels experiment

This should be the final post in this series on link wheels.

It appears that the linkwheel I outsourced has been done for 2 weeks now. I missed the email sent to me with the account and url details, and since I didn’t see any real changes in the SERPs, I assumed the project was still pending.

The linkwheel project:

Immediate Objective:

To create a network/webring of content/site accounts/web 2.0 profiles to link inwardly and to each other for a certain keyword term/phrase.

Link wheels best practices

As I mentioned in a previous post on Linkwheels, I outsourced some linkwheel creation to the guys at maxdesk.com.

I asked them a “newbie-like” question on how well link wheels work and if it would get me the rankings I wanted just by having them create this for me.

Testing out Linkwheels + MaxDesk

In the previous post, LinkWheels – What are LinkWheels and do they work? I mentioned using SE Nuke to develop linkwheels with click-button ease (once you get software to actually work).

However, if you’re averse to spending money on a monthly service, there’s always another option and that’s to hire someone to develop a linkwheel for you.

So that’s what I decided to do…

I outsourced a linkwheel to see if these people could produce any positive results and to see if the links helped the main sites rank better…
