Content Buzz – what does ContentBuzz do?

by Daniel on November 4, 2009

in Content Buzz

I’ve heard repeated rumblings about ContentBuzz and decided to do a Content Buzz review by having a buddy of mine use it and test it out.

What does Content Buzz do?

This is for people who want to utilize podcasts, videos web 2.0 profiles, and social bookmarking.  It’s a service/desktop application that semi-automates your account creations at podcast, video sharing web 2.0 and social bookmarking sites.  I say it’s semi-automated because you have to type in your captchas still, no big deal there but slows down the “getting started” process a bit.

ContentBuzz is almost a rival of SE Nuke and better than Traffic Geyser because of its automated account creations and submissions processes, but when you go hybrid with something you usually only do a portion of what the other services do whilst doing more overall.

CB versus Traffic Geyser

Traffic Geyser sends your videos to 50 or so video sharing sites, and does podcasts, too

Content Buzz does the same thing, but you’re not uploading your video to CB’s site, you’re submitting your videos and podcasts from the desktop application.

CB versus SE Nuke:

SE Nuke - does content creation + submission, account creations with auto captcha solving.  SE Nuke also has ability to pull in articles from the web via url you provide and spins them with a click of a button.

Content Buzz – does semi automated account creations and content submissions.  Content Buzz doesn’t have any one-click spinning capabilties.

Cost comparisons:

  1. Traffic Geyser costs 97/month
  2. SE Nuke costs 147/month
  3. Content buzz costs 29/month

My opinion on Content Buzz?

Now that all the vanilla fluff details about CB are out of the way, what’s Content Buzz good for and who needs it and who should use it?

If you do any video marketing or podcasting then this is a worthwhile service to get.

The social bookmarking aspect is great for what it’s worth but social bookmarking links will only do so much for you, really.  SB links are mostly NoFollow nowadays but they can be effective if you’re getting enough of them, so really, social bookmarking for effective link building is largely dependent on getting a lot of links, which means creating  a lot of profiles.

How we’re testing Content Buzz for this review:

We’ve built some Google Sniper sites as part of my comprehensive Google Sniper Review series so we’ll be using Content Buzz to generate traffic and backlinks to 7 or 8 of those sites.  The 7-8 sites are for easy, medium, and high competition keywords, and niches.

UPDATE!!!

I always send program owners an email letting them know I am reviewing their service, in case there are some extra elements or features to their services that weren’t obvious, and to make sure my reviews are accurate.  As mentioned earlier in this review I am working with someone to review and use this Content Buzz service.

Anyways I sent the email to the Content Buzz folks telling them I’m reviewing their service and here’s Shaun’s reply:

Hi Daniel

Thanks for your email. It was very interesting to read your review of Content Buzz. I appreciate your comments but I don’t think you quite revealed everything that Content Buzz can do.

It is difficult to compare Content Buzz with Traffic Geyser as, quoting from their sales page, they “Submit your messages to 50 video sites and social bookmarking sites…”. That is not 50 ‘video’ sites, that’s the total of both. It also includes several ‘how-to’ sites that don’t particularly like marketing messages and will delete them.

SENuke seems to revolve around spinning articles. We take the view that unless you are promoting quality content then it isn’t worth the time and effort involved. Does a spun article actually create a good impression with a prospective customer?

Content Buzz enables account creation and submission to 140 Social Media platforms. This includes 50 general video sites that are marketer friendly. We have a separate mode for info marketers that submits to even more specific ‘how-to’ sites. Add to this 40 social bookmarking sites, image hosting sites, feeder blog sites, podcast directories, micro-blogging services, ping services and RSS aggregators. Not to mention other software that includes an easy way to find relevant blogs and forums etc where you can drop your backlinks, and a unique link builder that you can get an outsourcer to get you another 500 or so links from other social platforms. We feel that Content Buzz enables an imaginative marketer to create really comprehensive, and unique marketing campaigns.

We also try to provide marketers with ‘affordable’ solutions, and feel that at under $30 p.m. Content Buzz is good value for money considering the overhead in supporting and constantly testing so many platforms.

We do have several new and exciting products coming out in the near future that you and your readers are sure to be interested in. If you don’t mind I will send you a link for you to give them a test drive prior to release as I would appreciate any comments you may have.

Cheers for now

Shaun

I have to agree with the Content Buzz owner, that for the imaginative marketer you can do a lot of “awesome” stuff with Content Buzz, even though there is somewhat more setup and a few teething problems to get through with account setup early on.

Once you’re up and running, Content Buzz is I think the best value for money out of all of them.

If you want to spin articles, I would recommend using a “Dedicated” article marketing platform, the best in my opinion being “Submit Your Article”, when you mix video marketing and article marketing together with amazing information you have a “Very” powerful marketing strategy.

If you go a step further and use Site Build It and post your videos on the pages you create with it, around keyword focussed articles offering value and “PRE-Selling” your visitors, you have an unbeatable solution.

I feel that the best 3 tools you can use are:
1. Content Buzz
2. Submit Your Article
3. SiteBuildIt

Just the above three on their own will see you on the track for great long term traffic and eventual success online.

Hope this helps.

Warm Regards,
Adam

I am in the process of extensive testing with Content Buzz and will publish my results and experiences on my blog soon… I agree with Adam’s comment above but would suggest a self hosted Wordpress blog as an alternative to SiteBuildit. I used SBI a long time ago and much prefer the wordpress dashboard and structuring capabilities.

I have had many communications with Shaun, owner of Content Buzz and he has been extremely helpful and has given me attention uncommon in today’s market place.

Thanks for the review

Thanks roger, Shaun’s very helpful and what he said about Traffic Geyser as compared to Content Buzz astounded me.

CB is good if you do a lot of video marketing, but as you may have noticed, videos don’t rank as well as they used to (caffeine alog)

Great Review and I’m surprised I’ve never heard of CB. The price point is awesome.

I suspect that even if google doesn’t rank video’s as high in the SERP’s, that the traffic you get directly from the video sites (especially the big ones) is still worth the time to regularly post video content as a traffic generation tool. I see it as simply another source of traffic that isn’t dependent on Google. I like the idea of having multiple traffic sources and not put all my eggs in one basket….. never know how the next algorithm tweak will affect your organic SERP’s.

Again, thanks for the article…..

Hi Ken, I am in complete agreement with you. The less dependent on algos and SERPs we are the more stable the traffic flow, and business. It’s kind of a catch-22 though because the more things you do to become less dependent on SERPs, those only strengthen your site’s rankings…

Thanks for that review. I’m coming along contentbuzz some weeks ago and just putting some articles and videos together to make a real test what it can do.
Besides the thought getting traffic not only from the SERPS, there is another point of view that I’m faszinated at the moment: Looking currently at alexa you’ll recognice how much traffic the socials have vs. yahoo und google. Putting those together contentbuzz posts to, both big SE’s are beaten. And just thinking further: where is it easier to get found, at google, digg or youtube?
Just my 2 cents

I think people are slowly starting to realize just how good a deal Content Buzz is versus Traffic Geyser, so hopefully the service is effective for you.

Thanks for stopping by,

I’m curious to know if you have any results to share with your test of content buzz with your Google Sniper sites. Has it helped getting them ranked? Traffic increase?
I think an interesting experiment would be a side by side marketing test of all the big softwares out there-SENuke, Web2mayhem,Linkdozer,Content Buzz and Traffic Magnet on a new site. Say all with a fairly competitive keyword using an identical CMS-wordpress no doubt. Anybody tried this?

Reply

Daniel McGonagle March 3, 2010 at 8:12 pm

I joined content Buzz then canceled it by accident so I don’t have any real success stories to tell here, but form a features point of view it definitely surpasses what Traffic Geyser does, and some other social marketing-related programs, too.

I like your idea for side by side program testing, but it’s virtually impossible to determine which link by what program or service had XXX effect on one site only being tested….

ContentBuzz is program whose main strength is social media marketing and video marketing, too, which allows for more site exposure but it’s not something that will increase your rankings, really. Video is good for direct traffic, social bookmarking is best for getting stuff indexed and manual target audience interaction, like doing manual, not bot-generated…. tweeting and bookmarking and such…

Frank you might want to read how i test link building services to arrive at my conclusions and recommendations

Thanks for the question,

Dan

Oh yea-I forgot to mention EVO2 by Peter Drew. He makes some pretty bold claims.

I’m twice bitten thrice shy on his products, is all I’m going to say about EVOII.

You said: “I like your idea for side by side program testing, but it’s virtually impossible to determine which link by what program or service had XXX effect on one site only being tested….”

I agree if it was only one site but I meant take 5 keywords of roughly equal competiveness, strength of competition etc, and launch say 5 Google Sniper sites each based around one of the keywords you selected. Then fire up each software but only use one of the tools as the only method of promotion and link building for the site. Eg. site A uses Content Buzz, site B uses SENuke etc.

Maybe you already have a good idea who would come out on top? :)

Reply

Daniel McGonagle March 3, 2010 at 9:42 pm

Hi Frank, that admittedly makes more sense, maybe I mis-read your suggestion.

A deciding factor would be the allintitle competition and the link profiles of the pre-existing top-ranking sites for these terms. You’d have to find similar competition levels with competing sites with similar levels of quality links (link profiles) to set some sort of fair and balanced comparison base.

I tried traffic geyser and have to say that I did not think it worth $97 per Month. If you ask me you are paying for the hype and the big interview they did with Frank Kern, loads of training and lovely bright and wonderful videos….
I used it, and I gave it a real shot, was not impressed, there was no page 1 or position 1 for what I considered low to medium keywords, well, market samurai’s opinion actually as thats what I use.
I did like the ease of how you uploaded video but not the cost of how they set up your accounts (if you chose auto set up) and the level of set up they did for my money, I did feel a little ripped off by that I have to say, shame as great interface etc and has potential.
But why doesn’t someone create an all in one that has all the options of SEOnuke (but work) and add in traffic geyser video upload…
I tried Brute force evo II…well, I won’t go there….
But on the plus side, no captcha solving….I keep putting off my content buzz trial as I am not sure how many account set ups I can face if the thing ends up rubbish…I think you can spend more time actually trying software, creating accounts then getting anything done.
Shame SEOnuke was kinda low quality, it has the makings of a top product, if only it worked properly, for me anyway. Just my 2 cents…
Imagine an SEOnuke that worked and no capcha mixed with a traffic geyser that had more options, or could this be content buzz!!! (without the account creation).

Hi Trevor, Content Buzz is a video marketing and social bookmarking tool mainly, is considered more of a traffic generation program rather than an increasing rankings type of program.

It’s been my experience that you have ot pick and choose some specialized services and/or tools for certain rankings and traffic generation methods because the specialized tools will perform much better than the all in one suites modules trying to be the “best” in that particular category

Hi daniel,

I have just signed up for the 7 day trial with content buzz and FYI it is now $67per month after the trial. I will continue as I am finding it an awesome tool to upload my videos to and it is cheaper than traffic geyser. The one plus I like is how in the background all other members will social bookmark your work. This will make it look like your videos have had a great review/following and hopefully get the ball rolling with the social bookmarking sites.
However the feature that does this(the desktop feature) is super painful to leave on while the pc is on as it interupts everything you do. So just turn on at night and when not using the computer.

Hey Jamie thanks for adding to the discussion. I didn’t get much of a chance to do a thorough review of Content Buzz, so I’m happy to hear others’ feedback.

From what I’ve heard from others besides you is the desktop tool is clunky, a PC resource hog, and somewhat amateurish in design. MY review/recommendation of it is based on the fact that it does MORE than Traffic Geyser which has some irritating, obscure, and high costs that has really ticked a lot of people off.

Content Buzz has gone to an online application. FYI

$67 a month for now.

Looks better than EVO2 and TG. Going to try it, but like one of the other commentors, I’m dreading the account creations. Don’t know how much more I can stand.

ContentBuzz is a terrible service. They are down half the time. The Content Buzz software you install on your desktop is unable to log into half the bookmarking sites you sign up for (because it’s built on bad technology that programs like Social Bookmarking Submission went away from because they are buggy). Worse, their customer service is crap. They don’t respond in a timely manner. And at least once a week, their entire system goes down and they don’t even post status updates. I do not recommend this service and will filing a complaint against them to the BBB. You have been warned.

Thanks for the heads up SamJ, what other service did you get to replace and do what Content Buzz does (or was supposed to do)?

We are just about to start implimenting CB, after using many other tools, including TG, which I agree is a great, but pricey platform…. The education in TG and many other programs to get video on page 1 falls far short of what’s needed, and it’s taken us nearly a year to master it and regularly get page 1 video listings… even competing against video seo ‘experts’, we now have Google page 1, GoogleVideo and YouTube domination for the term “video seo services”, but it’s taken a lot of trial and error and does NOT involve the nepalm bombing approach!!

Let’s hope my review is a little more positive than Sam J’s above!!

Content buzz review

Hi Mark, let us know how it goes please, could use some more feedback on this…

You can also try inserting Youtube video embed code into UAW articles, so they get placed on multiple users’ sites, increase the amount of links those Youtube videos get, increasing their “plays” and it helps index the urls linking to the videos, since Youtube links back to the sits hosting their embed codes.

But as the video seo dude, I’m sure you know that? :)

I see untapped market for ranking Youtube videos, since nobody really expending much effort at ranking them

Are there any more recent reviews of Content Buzz since it went to an online application? Now that it is $67 vs Traffic Geyser @ $97 the spread isn’t so great, wondering if Content Buzz really has significant advantages over Traffic Geyser?

There is a guy in Canada that’s releasing a submitter that’s suppose to be better and cheaper than the rest. Early November I think.

I am ready to try out a new video marketing service, like Content Buzz or Traffic Geyser.

I’ve been reading reviews for a while now, and still not quite sure which one to choose.

In the end, is Content Buzz any good? is it still $67 /month? Did they solve their issues with that desktop application, or whatever it was that upset people?

I have many sites I want to create videos for, and I hope video marketing will boost up traffic and rankings as well.

Which one.. which one….

I just signed up for CB and apparently you do need to have a desktop application and also log in online. It is a pain to set up the accounts but I think that’s just the way it is anywhere. I can’t blame them for that. Every site is slightly different and captchas can be a pain. Some use user name only, while others use the email address and then you have flickr, delicious and others attached to Yahoo which have Yahoo accounts attached to them so you set them up with the yahoo email, if not they will fail on auto join. CB has a lot more sites than the free Tubemogul as far as I know. I just started so we’ll see what the results are. Thanks for the info on the other possibilities. I’m hoping CB is the ticket for the price.

Romy January 6, 2011 at 7:39 pm

Good luck Eric with creating accounts on all those sites. It really is a pain in the but setting up all of them

Just wanted to share with you another video syndicating service

http://www.pixelpipe.com

I don;t think it has all the big sites like CB does, or traffic geyser, but there is youtube, metacafe, blip.tv.

Don;t really know what sites you have in Content buzz or TG.

But this one is free, so I guess it’s worth checking it out. Of course, you have to create accounts on all the sites as well..

Eric January 10, 2011 at 12:22 am

Hi Romy,

Thanks for the nice wishes. I’m almost done setting up all the accounts on two different profiles. Quite a bit of work but almost there. I’ll let you know how things go in a month or so. Have you tried anything yet? Did you try Tubemogul? I think it’s a good alternative, however not as many sites to publish to.

Good luck Romy,

Eric

Hi Daniel,

I’ve been looking for an alternative to Traffic Geyser to upload my videos. I tried TG for several months and I think it does not worth $97 a month. There’s little info about Content Buzz on the internet so I really don’t know what to believe. Video submission and social bookmarking for $29 a month seems like a pretty good price if you do video marketing.

The thing I don’t like from what I read on their presentation page is that it submits videos automatically to Youtube (is there any danger of getting a Youtube account closed for using auto software to upload videos? I heard that it is totally NOT recommended).

Is there any option to not auto upload to Youtube? This is my main concern and maybe you or someone else can give some advice before I join CB.

Thanks,
George

hi George, I’m not a fan on Content Buzz, interface is a bit of a bear.

What are you trying to accomplish with your video marketing?

direct traffic and branding, I assume?

Reply

George January 22, 2011 at 1:04 pm

Yes, direct traffic and branding; I focus mostly on internet solutions to network marketing distributors so video marketing is definitely one of the strategies I teach.

I know you are more into link building strategies but you are one of the few who wrote something about CB so I wanted to see what do you think about it… I guess you haven’t used it so much.

I just don’t want to start using CB and see my Youtube account closed because of that. I guess I’ll sign up to that free trial to see what it’s all about.

How come they got the price down from $67 to $29 a month???

Reply

Daniel McGonagle January 22, 2011 at 1:11 pm

I’ve had it used/tested twice, at different times, and the testers said it was a bear to use, so that’s good enough for me.

I wouldn’t worry too much about YouTube shutting down accounts though, they can’t expect everyone to submit manually, and there’s nothing wrong with auto submissions in my opinion. If it were me, I’d focus on doing video comments on high PR, high clicked videos to sideswipe some of the traffic away form highly watched videos, but more importantly, I’d focus on what vid sites rank the videos better, easier then focus on ranking those videos.

You also might want to look into putting video sitemaps on your cleints’ sites, so their sites rank fo rthe terms in those videos as well
