I just finished writing a long reply to a comment made about Backlink Solutions and it was about creating a network of sites in order to get multiple page one listings.

It seemed like a good idea to spell it all out for you in a dedicated blog post.

I want you to think BIG here. I want you to strive for better goals than simply getting one of your sites onto page 1 for your terms, so here’s how I’ve been getting multiple listings on page 1 for a while know…

The secrets for getting multiple page 1 listings?

There won’t be any after you read this but there are 2 important elements that are need here:

  1. Use a good link building service that allows you to easily create numerous backlinks that get propagated at a safe interval rate (1 link a day or 1 link every 3 days)
  2. Have more than one site that you’re getting backlinks to by creating a network of blogs.

Part 1- Using a good link building service- just check out the recommended link building services section on this site (EASY)

Part 2- creating multiples sites, or a network of blogs,  but NOT Web 2.0 resources, real blogs on domain names you own and control.

The gist of this post will go over how EASY it is to create this network of blogs and here’ are the steps:

Part ONE of creating your blog network: Your domain names

1- Don’t go past this section because you think you know this already.

When selecting domain names you want to spend as much time possible searching for the best ones you can find that are inherently awesome for rankings.

This is 80% of your rankings battle won or lost right here

If your first choices for tlds ( the .com tlds) aren’t available, consider getting the .net, .org, or even the .info tlds.  Get the .uk tlds if you’re in the UK, otherwise skip it.

If you STILL don’t see that what you want is available, then get a domain name that has 2 of your main keywords in there.

Here’s an example, I have a Nascar site, but when I went searching for domain names on this topic nothing good was available, so I decided to get a domain name that had the top 2 most-searched-for terms in there (Nascar racing and Nascar shop).

If you know anything at all about SEO then you know that your domain name is probably your most important SEO aspect, with all else following behind as less important.

So when you get a domain name consider using some of the most searched-for terms in your domain name IF, and only IF, the better names are unavailable.

ALSO, don’t forget about the pluralized domain names, those are often overlooked as good ones to get (hence the titles of this blog)

Part TWO of creating your blog network: Building your blogs

Before getting domain names you obviously did some keyword research so you’ll have this list handy when creating categories and topics for post tiles.

A- Install WordPress in 5 minutes using Fantastico

B- Upload all your plugins and the theme that you’ll use on all sites.

I really don’t think there’s any need to make each and every site look different and I recommend AGAINST doing that because some themes behave differently from others and you don’t want to run into complications and technical issues when you’re trying to run your own self-created blog network

C- Use the ping list I’m giving away in my traffic tips newsletter or just go to pingler.com and use the ones they’re using.

At this point you should have

  • WordPress installed,
  • a theme activated,
  • a ping list installed,
  • your categories created,
  • the title of the site created based on Keywords you’re targeting,
  • and a list of the most searched-for keywords regarding your topic.

Remember to change the General Settings title, keywords and description in default WordPress install and to also configure the AllInOneSEO plugin settings as well.

Also, I recommend that you copy and paste a list of your keywords into a post draft for easy reference.

Sometimes it’s hard to remember where you put your list of keywords and it’s rather handy to have a reminder sitting in a saved draft to remind/motivate you to write your next post.

This way, you can login from anywhere and write another blog post (at day job during lunch break perhaps?)

Part THREE of creating your blog network: Creating and re-creating content

So far what I’ve described is stuff any experienced marketer can do in their “sleep”, but if you have all the necessities gathered up it won’t seem like a lot of work.

The necessities:

  • List of plugins you use
  • ping list
  • theme
  • knowing how to install wordpress via fantastico

Now, when it comes to adding content, this is where you might start to feel overwhelmed, but trust me on this one it’s really not that hard after you do this for the first time.

When adding content you want to focus on your on-page optimization by carefully considering what your page or post titles are going to be.

Put the keywords you’re targeting in your titles, sometimes even twice if you can get creative like that.

Use your keywords in title, first paragraph, and in the body of your posts, and at the end of your posts.  If your blog post is long, then use the keywords more often in the article body.

TAGS- I’m no expert on tagging and all I do here is repeat whatever words were used often in the article/post, and add those tags prior to publishing the post and making it live.

If I’m writing more than one article/post on a topic I give it its own category and publish the posts in that category.

THIS IS IMPORTANT because 2 different posts will give you 2 different urls you can link to from just one site, and it is conducive to getting indented listings when those terms are searched for and your posts show up in the SERPs.

Indented listings get noticed more on a search results page and get clicked on more than higher-ranked listings.

Let’s assume you’ve done this already, OK, and now you have 2 keyword-optimized posts on your site that are indexed:

NOW is when we start to re purpose your content and the hard work is done already since you’ve already gone to the trouble of writing 2 quality content pieces for that first site.

To re-purpose your content, merely rewrite your original posts and publish them on your other sites, but modify them to the point where they’re deemed as not dupe content.

Even if you do this with 2 posts on just one other site you’ll now have 4 different urls you can start getting backlinks to.

Do this on 5 sites and you’ll have 10 different urls to get backlinks to.

Then use any of the recommend link building services to get the links you need to get to page 1.

EXTRA CREDIT…

Write 2 EzineArticles articles back-to-back and get them published.  You want to get them published very closely to each other time-wise so they’l be the 2 “EZAs” getting indented listings in the search engines, too.

Make a Youtube video or two and do the same ( I honestly have no idea how to get Youtube vids top-ranked but it’s worth doing I guess).

Write a blog post on your Warrior Forum personal blog post, but really….your time is best spent creating and building assets you own and control not someone else’s site.
