The popular method right now for 1-way linking is to use blog networks because with WordPress blogs you can automatically publish your content on other blogs in a network.

When you publish an article or short blurb on a blog network, it acts as a backlink when you have links back to your site in the articles you wrote.

In most cases, in 1-way linking services under $57.00/month, these articles are not posted on relevant sites, just hosted-and-posted and hopefully serving as a backlink.

And they’re usually posted to garbage sites with upside down linkjuice and not getting spidered frequently due to the fact that the dummy hosting sites/blogs are just sacrifices offered up to make use of the blog network.

On the services that cost above $57.00/month, the sites are usually posting your articles on low-end sites with low PageRank, spidering frequency, and linkjuice.

Quick point: I use the UAW Free WordPress plugin on my sites to see what people are writing about in that niche, and the funny thing is, I’m outranking my competition already for the same terms, and I’m a Johnny-come-lately to those niches.  So, I’m either doing a better job of getting backlinks and on-page SEO, or UAW isn’t that great.

One thing that cannot be discounted however, is that UAW article submissions are going on relevant sites and in relevant categories, therefore, they’re getting human eyeballs reading them, and there’s no real way to quantify the value of that, but it’s always a good thing.
