ORDERED 6 LINKPWNS SEPTEMBER 9 23 2011
Dripable.com Link PWNs Review/test ended after 60 days
LinkPWNs is part of Dripable.com’s link building service offerings. I decided not to use Dripable.com’s regular service and went for something I deemed to be a bit more powerful, so as not to waste my time nor yours with a review on something that is just a massive link blast one-and-done and nothing to show for it, kinda review…
NOTE: I got comped one free url and keyword for this review, but decided to order a 5 packages set so as not to sway my review by offering up a partial review in exchange for a free 147/month service (each linkpwn package costs 147/month but you can cancel it whenever you want).
Here’s what LinkPWN does
Website gets direct links from
- Private Blogs,
- Article directories,
- First Level Blogs,
- Public Wikis,
- Edu and .Gov links
The above mentioned entities get links from each other (think “link wheels: here) and direct links from
- LinkLicious (crawling and indexing)
- Social Bookmarking
- Second Level blogs
The above mentioned entities get direct links from Scrapebox and Xrumer blasts
It’s important to know the history of the urls being linked to, and their ranking history, before we get into the results…
My goal isn’t (just
) to sell “stuff” but to do some educational selling so you’re leaving this site with some knowledge that will help you understand SEO and link building a bit better.
Sorry to tease you with stuff you might not want to read, but it is helpful, trust me…
The rankings history and competition levels of the 6 urls tested.
URL #1- Rankings history…
Domain was #1 to #3 for a long time 4-5 months ago, then slowly started slipping back to page 3 as months of site inactivity passed.
Main domain url for the site was page 3 for last 4 months, then went to page 1 for main keyword one site got posted to again recently.
URL #1- The competition and linking activity…
The SERPs are volatile for this term, the top 10 urls change almost daily, with the top 1-2 spots on google remaining pretty much the same. The main url for this site being tested bounced around from its new page 1 position to page 2, then page 3, then back to #9 on page 1, where it seems to have a solid “landing”, or settling point.
Expectations- since no new links have been attained, err self-generated in 4-5 months, the expectation here, realistically, is to regain prominence at top 3 position. This url is also getting backlinks from a guest blogging sponsorship that I did which tends to give pretty good backlinks and might have helped solidify the move up form page 3 to page 1 recently. It didn’t hurt, that’s for sure…
URL #2- Rankings history…
Inner url, a wordpress page. Was ranked #3 for a “money” term solidly for the last year or so. Recently it slipped due to some on site changes. (If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!) so we’re going to have to get it back up to #3 form its current #6 ranking.
URL #2- The competition and linking activity-
The top 2 sites are REAL business sites, not affiliate sites, and they’ve invested a lot of resources in social media, inbound linking, links form relevant sites. The top 2 sites are e-commerce-like sites, in that they’re built to sell, not educate, they have good on-page optimization, the time spent on site stats are probably pretty good, and they’re actively working on keeping their rankings.
Expectations- to get back to previous #3 ranking, and if I feel like it, install some darned analytics software to tweak the url to make it rank higher, or more stably, via better on-page optimization.
URL #3- Rankings history…
Same url as URL #2, but different keyword/term. Was never solidly ranked for this term, but had occasional appearances on page 2 due to Google shuffling algorithms stuff (fancy seo speak there eh?)
The reason for the weird rankings bounces I attribute to a direct competition between the main url of the site making appearances for, and ranking for, this same term. so the authority of the main url was interfering with what was trying to be done for the inner url noted here. So a site change was made and the home page main url is no longer trying to rank, nor be optimized for this term, thereby giving less of an inter-site competition for ranking this page. Far better to dedicate one page per term as the old-school SEOs advise, but if the term isn’t competitive, you can rank for a lot of terms on one page, one url, article, post, whatever…
You just gotta realize when you’re getting in your own way, and maybe after you rank one url at the top, then you can link to the “other” url from that one to try and get double listings, if its worth your while, of course
URL #3- The competition and linking activity- same as #2, see #2 above
URL #4- Rankings history…
URL was optimized for a sub main KW. Never really ranked well despite being a top level WordPress page on a PR 4 site… I moved some pages around to reorganize the site, and mistakenly moved this top level page under another page in the navigation, making it a sub-page of a PR3 url on site. It seems there’s link juice or PR love, or authority being passed down from top level pages to sub-pages and this url is page 2 for the keyword its optimized for now.
So basically, I used, albeit mistakenly…. the PR juice of the site top level page to pass some trust internally to this page merely by moving it to what I thought was a more intuitive place for readers to see it on the site.
NOTE: If I was actively building links to this moved page, I would never have moved it, despite being able to utilize redirects to pass the juice it had along to new url location. Anyhow, it’s important to note that utilizing your site for self-linking can be beneficial, but do it only if it makes your site a better thing to read, don’t mess with PR hoarding and link juice attribution too much or you’ll forget why you built the site in the first place (for your readers!).
If you’re interested in how I hoard/tweak/manage the juice and PR, please read this post on How to maximize your on site optimization.
URL #4- The competition and linking activity-
This is a sub-main keyword and not a money keyword either. It’s more of a generic term that doesn’t even get a huge number of searches. There’s only one site actively vying for rankings here, and they’re #10 at the moment so obviously not trying too hard. the top sites are authority sites ranking highly based on their site strength.
Expectations- To get top 3 for this term, since competition is low and currently new url location ranks it around #12 or #13 on Google.
URLs #5 and 6- Rankings history…
Getting tired of writing here
Both urls were in top 3 for their keywords 4-5 months ago and slowly slipped to bottom of page 1, top of page 2 points.
URLs #5 and #6- The competition and linking activity-
The 2 urls got bumped down due to active inbound linking activity, AND good site activity (frequent posting) by the sites that got rankings increased. The competition built links and kept their sites fresh, mostly affiliate sites…
Expectations- this is a tough call here, because a lot had to happen in order for these 2 urls to drop down, so it might take a lot to get them back to previous positions, if at all. These are low traffic, REAL low traffic terms, but high competition (gotta love the IM niche eh?)
So, LinkPWN review, urls tested
6 urls and keywords overall, 1 comp and 5 paid…
Cost: 650/month
Updates after ordering and packages started:
30 days later
URL/KW1 moved up as high as #4, stabilized at #7needs more work
URL/KW 2- bouncing around a lot here, moved to page 1, # 4 or 5
URL/KW 3- moved to page 1, from nowhere-land really… never did much anchor text keywords-based link building for this term, so the ranking is expected here
URL 4 strategies- new url, old content, as mentioned before I moved the url form a top-level page on site to a sub-page. Went from page 2, to disappearing from the SERPs
URL/KW 5- from page 2 to page 1, almost as high as it can be expected to go, only one site that’s NOT the name of the merchant ranking higher than my url
URL/KW 6- weird results here, disappointing in fact… SERPs never moved up and only went down, from top/middle of page 2, now creeping down page 2
60 days into it-
URL/Kw 1, #7 not too bad, solid page 1, lots of competition here, some top players are renting high PR links
URL/KW 2, #6- not too bad, not great results for 300 bucks spent on this one keyword, competition is tough, I guess I shouldn’t have expected to regain the top 3 listing so easily…
URL/Kw 3, #7 -same URL as above, just a different keyword, solid page 1 ranking for a fairly competitive keyword
URL/KW 4, nowhere to be found boo!
URL/KW 5, #3overall good- the best results from all of these tests
URL/KW 6, page 3- I should probably ask for a link report for this campaign since it was totally unaffected by whatever was (supposed to have been) done.
Overall end opinion?
It’s expensive, results were hard to give a definitive answer on, despite testing 6 different keywords and urls for 60 days and spending close to 1300 dollars…
Self-serving sidenote- For 1300 dollars I could have used my own service and built out a private network and give myself the high PR backlinks that my competition is utilizing/renting…

The dripable service of 4,000 links daily (2,000 blog comments and 2,000 profile links) is worth the $97 monthly cost. If you use the service as part of a diversity link building strategy it’s worth the cost. If is also a decent price point to use in a link wheel type of strategy . I don’t think dripables other service that you reviewed here (linkpwns) , is very useful or cost effective. Just my two cents.
