I have been following your blog for a few months now, and I have to say thanks for the information. It’s very helpful. I have been trying to find some updated information on your recommended services for linkbuilding. The most recent one I see was published March 11, 2009 (http://linkvanareviews.com/effective-link-building-services). Is there a current release of this info? If not, can you do an updated recommended list and why post?
I am trying to build links for a mortgage company website to push it up the ranks in Google for high to medium competition geographic keyword phrases. I don’t have tons of sites to promote, just one for now and another 3 in the making (I build a site for each state I’m licensed). What would be the best service(s) to use to get the most out of a linkbuilding campaign? Cost is not an issue, but it must have a high quality ROI.
I’ve seen you talk a lot about Backlink Solutions, Linkvana, Unique Article Wizard, My Article Network, and The Link Juicer. I plan to outsource content writing and hopefully automate as much as I can.
Which of these services submit to top article directories like Ezinearticles; top blogs with high PR; etc?
Any advise you could give would be greatly appreciated.
Hey Kevin, check your inbox. ROI is hard to measure and niche-dependent, although in the mortgage industry SEO has a very high ROI. If money’s not the most critical factor then I’d put Linx Boss as #1 since it does same thing as Backlink Solutions, just costs a little more, but you don’t have to write a thing.
If you’re on a budget then Unique Article Wizard is the way to go, with BLS right in between with a good mix of power for ranking hubs, lenses, articles and medium comp terms, plus its easy to generate links low time cost etc…
You really don’t want to use My Article Network nor The Link Juicer, not unless you have something set up to index your self-generated backlinks (and a good working list of urls linking to you like TLJ gives you). To get non-indexed urls linking to you indexed, read this post.
BTW, I will be updating the “recommended” page at the end of the month and will probably be replacing Linkvana with Article Ranks, Build My Rank, or even Blog Blueprint
Maybe ROI was the wrong term to use; Results or Rankings would have been better. If I can get to page 1 for the keywords I’m targeting I will obtain sales, which will provide an acceptable ROI.
Cost is a minor issue, as you mentioned mortgage sales can be profitable. I’m willing to spend $47, $69, $97, $127, $147, etc; as long as I see results. At the present time, with a few articles manually written and submitted to ezinearticles and goarticles, I’m page 6 for my primary keyword (high competition) and page 2 for my secondary keyword (medium competition). These are a state and city keyword respectively (ie, Ohio mortgage, Cleveland Mortgage; but not these obviously). I am looking to boost these rankings to page 1 results, preferrably 1-3 listing. Once this is completed I want to target other cities within this state; and target other states.
Does Linx Boss post to article directories, blogs, and social bookmarks? Do any of these services post to all three? Based on your experience, which is going to offer the highest/best results, with minimal effort from my end?

Linx Boss doesn’t post to any of those places you mentioned, it’s a private network for building rankings, basically. Submit YourArticle might submit to all of those places, however, you need to realize that time spent getting those articles, written, submitted and ranked would be better spent getting your site ranked for same terms.
I mentioned that other service because it would do the job you want, but I’ve only tested it for 2 weeks so not something I’m comfortable recommending publicly, but suffice to say, I ordered a 2d, separate account with them just tonight. You can wait a couple of weeks or months or so before I publicly recommend it, but that email was a private recommendation and I have other people joining privately and I will get feedback from them as well.
Social bookmarking’s value is in getting things indexed and providing a well-rounded link profile, but not a powerful type of link to seek and acquire, not really. If you want links from blogs, article directories, social bookmarking etc… you probably want to get Bookmarking Demon for social links and Unique Article Wizard for blog and article directory links.
Based on your above comments, would you suggest Backlink Solutions or Unique Article Wizard in terms of ease of use and effectiveness for build ranks quickly? Again price is not a determining factor, unless it’s a waste to spend more, but ultimately I’d like to use a service with a user friendly interface, that generates results! If you suggest BLS, do you know if they are opening new accounts, or do you have an affiliate link to give special access?
In regards to the recommendation sent via email, do you think that’s too much power? Won’t that take away the “natural” growth of links in terms of Google?

For medium competition terms you really can’t go wrong with BLS, try going here to see if they’re still accepting new people.
Unique Article Wizard, when used properly, can do a lot more but with a lot more effort, too. Read this post on how to get max effect from UniqueArticleWizard.
If your site is more than a few months old, you really don’t have to worry about natural link velocity, read about that here and here
What is your opinion of article ditribution services like Submit Your Article? I believe this company distributes “unique articles” (spun versions) to top article directories, blogs, and RSS feeds. Any feedback? Have you ever tried them?
If you don’t like this company, maybe there’s a better service.
