Mega Link Blaster test

by Daniel on January 7, 2011

in Mega Link Blaster

Mega Link Blaster is a service run by Jeremy Kelsall and Don Van Fossen .

UPDATE: 2/16/2011 – After getting weary of non-user-friendly interface, experiencing constant updates and changes to the MLB Control Panel, plus seeing less effects with xrumer-like profiles links blasting in general,  I’ve canceled my subscription and account with them.   I think in the future these links would be better used for indexing other urls you want boosted

It’s like DripFeedBlasts and BlastBank, ie, an automated profiles link building service.

How many links do you get?

1000 links generated/day, all done automatically, just specify your keywords and urls for 67/month

The test…. start date December 17th, 2010

URL tested: domain is almost 2 years old, has 22 links to home page according to Yahoo Site Explorer.

Has a keyword rich domain (of course) but not an exact match domain for the heavy volume keywords the site will try to rank for.

This is admittedly a forgotten site, with few backlinks to it considering it’s age.

Kws and rankings:

2 phrase, singular and plural that are close matches to domain name.

These 2 phrases rank #5 for the singular EXACT MATCH and #9 for the the plural term

We’re doing direct linking here, no tiered linking and if the SERPs move up for the 2 aforementioned terms, we will switch to the higher volume keywords and alter site title to reflect that.

13 days later-

88 YSE links

Ranks- #5 serp is still #5, #9 moved up 2 spots to #7

20 days later-

282 YSE links

Ranks – KW1- from #5 to #4, KW2- from #9 in beginning to #5

Dan,

Did you get a chance to see what the homepage PR of the profile links built?

Are these all just like DFB and BB or do you actually get some decent PR from the root?

Thanks for your reply.

Have you an affiliate link for this Daniel? I also canceled DFB this month and this looks like it could be a decent replacement.

Will you be linking directly to your money sites with this or using tiered linkbuilding?

This could definitely replace your DFB submissions considering it’s actually improving the rankings thus far.

Random question: What’s your opinion on using ArticleRank, UAW and AMR for SEO? Reason being if I write a long spun article, but submit half the submissions for AR and the other half for UAW, then a whole separate set of articles for AMR, will there be any problems?

Hi, Dan. Jeremy KELSALL and Donald VAN FOSSEN were some of my earliest mentors in IM. They are no-ego straight shooters, brilliant at making steady money, and very well respected in the IM/Warrior community. So it would be nice for us to get their names right at the top of this thread…”Don something or other” lol!:)

Also looking forward to your answers to Josh, Andy and David, all solid questions. Keep up your fine review work!

Joe, Welcome to the fold!, and thanks for dropping in to say Hello.

While this isn’t a forum, there’s some good conversations on here for sure, and I can’t take credit for all of that, but there’s some knowledge-able readers piping in on some posts which helps people make better decisions, I hope.

Nice to see more coming on board for Rumer Self-do Type of Links.

More competition is always good in the seo link World.

Did i miss if they do any kind of Ping to the Links here?

Nice to see this site is working well, been thinking of joining.

Did you just do 1 day’s worth of link building to your your? So, 1000 links/500 to each keyword?

Hi again Daniel,

I actually looking for a tool or service to promote my parasites and mini nets at this point. Thanks to your advice my sites have been progressing nicely since I found your blog back in late October ’10. Anyhow, I’ve ruled out Xrumer, a tad too pricey at the moment, and you seem to sour towards Drip Feed Blasts.

So would a suitable option be between Sick Profile Submitter and Mega Link Blaster at this point? At least those are the two I’m currently trying to decide between, if I’m off base here please let me know?

Thanks for the review Daniel – was thinking about giving these guys a shot, but that indexation rate is rather shoddy (considering that there should be 16,000 links after 16 days).

Keep up the good work!

So far I’ve had very few links show up in yahoo site explorer. In January I did a few runs for an old eHow article and so far I’m showing 6 profile links in yahoo site explorer.

When I look at my profiles generated by MLB (in MLB control panel) most of the profiles I take a look at I can’t see because I’m not logged into the site. The profiles I can see about 20% contain links that aren’t even mine.

I had high hopes for MLB but I’m going to cancel my service.

Hey Daniel, Great site! I’ve been reading loads lately and you do some great and interseting tests!

I signed up to MLB a couple of days ago and remember you writing somewhere that the interface is atrocious, and you are NOT wrong! It’s horrible, although they have been indicating an upgrade but I haven’t seen any changes yet…

This is the first profile link service I’ve tried and I was torn between drip feed blasts, blastbank, and this. I went for this for two reasons…DFB was higher priced, and BB was closed, and this did appear to be quite good on the surface.

I wanted to ask if you’re aware of the quality of service the other two services provide?

So far with MLB I’ve been getting less than 500 profiles created per day (instead of the promised 1000), and of the created profiles less than ONE HUNDRED actually have anchor text…ouch!

Seems pretty poor to me but to be fair I have nothing to pit it against as I can’t really afford to do the testing you do.

How much more successful are the other two services?

Do you actually get the promised amount of backlinks, with a high percentage of anchor text links?

I’m all about checking for positive serps movements with any sort of SEO work I might be doing – I just don’t like getting sold short when paying for a service. (sure I could get positive serps movements with what they’re providing, but if they did instead provide the 1000 promised links per day, or even got close – because I understand 100% success rate isn’t always achieveable, maybe I’d see that same positive serps move – just that little bit quicker.)

Anyway, I hope you understand where I’m coming from and maybe you could enlighten me regarding the other two services (DFB and BB). :)

Thanks, and keep up the great work and awesome testing!

Regards,
J

Hey J, thanks for the feedback and questions…

At the end of this post here, I describe how I personally will be using Xrumer-like services in the future (for forum marketing on somewhat related forums via thread posts, and also will focus on the higher profiles forums for profiles links).

DFB, BlastBank, and MLB I no longer use. I’m looking for a service that will do forum marketing for me they way I described, but it’s basically just another form of article marketing, just that the articles are going on forums instead of article directories. And IF link trust (written about in post referenced above) truly is going to be a major issue, then I will just focus on the higher PR forum for profile links no matter their relevancy to destination sites.

I NEVER check out the urls created for me by these blasting services, because it doesn’t really matter to me where they’re placing my links and how many are naked, anchor texted, do follow no follow, if the service doesn’t produce results, then there’s either an issue with these types of links, or an algo change devaluing these links, or they’re hitting the same sites over and over.

TO BE CLEAR: I’m not saying these links don’t work, but to answer your questions better, I thought I’d share my views on those things

Wow, that was a helluva thought provoking post. Good read…

Thanks for responding to my comment here too. Unless MLB up their game I’ll probably be leaving them also. I just wanted to know if the others services actually make good on what they offer in terms of total links build per day…maybe some of your other readers have experience with these services also?

Anyway, thanks again! I’m going to go read that post again! :)

I was using DFB for many months. I left DFB for a month or so and when I come back DFB refused to let me in at the price I was paying($67). I think they believe they have monopoly in the segment. I refused to pay extra and now I am in the market for something else.
