NextGenLinks – Review and Recommendations

NextGenLinks has a lot of good things about it but there are some bad things about this link building service, too.

NextGenLinks PRO’s.

NextGenLinks is automated, hands-free link building.

You’re going to have to link OUT in order to get linked TO, but outward linking on a site is a sign of natural linking patterns, so that’s OK, and when you’re linking outwardly to relevant sites, so much the better, as long as it’s not overdone.

Why this whole outward linking thing is important:

How many sites in those blog networks and article marketing syndication networks like Unique Article Wizard and My Article Network do you think are linking outwardly to theme-related/site-related sites?

Not many… so if you are accepted articles on a donor blog with those services, there will be times when those articles are linking out to non-relevant sites, making your site less-relevant in the search engines’ eyes.

With NextGenLinks you don’t host someone else’s content with 3 outgoing links per article.

Instead they crawl your site, pick up on your keywords and tags, compile this information in a database or something somewhere, then start doling out the links to all the members’ sites and pages, EVERY page, based on how you optimized your sites’ content for keywords, tags, content etc…

Theoretically this is fantastic because;

  • you’re getting linked to from relevant sites,
  • you get to approve/disapprove of your outgoing links,
  • and the links you’re sending are relevant to the sites you’re linking to,
  • plus IF you did your on-page optimization properly, the sites linking to you based on your keywords and tags used on your content will be sending a variety of relevant links as well.

This is very cool since you don’t have to write 3 articles just to help get ranked for 3 different keywords.  NextGenLinks will get you links based upon all the Keywords and TAGS you used, and will do it automatically.

NextGenLinks CON’s.

Spidering Process:

The beauty of this system has been described above; automation, variety of relevant backlinks, and linking to relevant sites, but

Part of using their service requires you to have them crawl your site to pick up all your content, keywords, tags, categories etc…

This is called their spidering process and it takes a really long time to do, and I’m not really sure how this service is going to pick up the content, keywords, and tags generated from site content published after their spidering process ran.

NextGenLinks is run by a guy name Charles and he’s a really nice guy.  I told him I canceled my membership because of their spidering process taking way too much of my time, and they’re looking into a centralized solution for the spidering process (which is #1 reason why people quit this service, the #2 reason being the quality of sites in their network, a common complaint with most automated services like this)

Once I am convinced that the spidering process isn’t going to be such a hassle, I will try it again, but I value my time and can’t sit by a PC for 2 hours waiting for their spiders to finish crawling my site.

Like I said earlier, they realize this and are looking into better ways of accomplishing the necessary spidering process.

Quality Of Sites in the network:

Now I’m no snob when it comes to judging other people’s real estate, but some of the sites that I saw in their network from a long time ago were crap sites, plain and simple.

Not only did some of these sites have wicked poor design, but many were not relevant to my niche and I don’t know why a certain page of mine was linking to their site, as the content didn’t seem that related to the hyperlinked anchor text pointing to that page.

On-page linking to other sites may not be good for some business models

  1. If you’re building Adsense sites, the only thing you want your visitors to be clicking on is the ADS.
  2. If you’re running a website promoting affiliate products, then you probably already have outgoing links to extremely relevant sites, so why would you want MORE on-page links by using “NGL”?

Wouldn’t that make things difficult for your visitors?

SOLUTION:

With NextGenLinks you can choose how and where you link to other sites (header, sidebar, maybe even footer, too).  As you can see, it doesn’t really make sense to use on-page content to link to other sites since it will interfere with your affiliate or Adsense revenue.

OK, OK, enough already… this is all good information to know about this service Dan, but does NextGenLinks work, yes or no?

I asked Charles from NextGenLinks to give me some sort of trial period so I could use NGL for 60-90 days for just one site as case study proof.

I’ve written about 65 unique, and long articles on that site and am targeting an extremely targeted niche and keywords with that site.  since i’m not certain if their spidering process will re-run to update itself with my new content for that site, I am going to write about 10 more articles to wrap things up with that site, content-wise.

Hopefully, I’ll have that site hooked up to NGL and in testing mode by the end of June.  I will, of course, updated you with details on this.
