Pay Per View Traffic – Garbage or Gold?

Just a quick note here to let you know I’ve been getting emails about this MASSPPV promotion all day today so I did some quick research and found that a few people who tried this Pay Per View traffic didn’t see good results from it.

And the people who tested this out are knowledgeable about SEO.

There’s some proof of stats and scientific feedback etc.. at this post here

Naturally, I will be testing this out for myself to see if those people who didn’t see good results with their PPV traffic were doing things correctly, maybe they missed something small but crucial, who knows…

Here’s what one commenter said on the post referenced above:

Some PPV networks load up 25 or more pages in a pop-under screen at the same time.

So, in essence, the same visitor sees ALL of the sites at the same time. The visitor MIGHT click on one or two of them but generally it won’t be yours. Nevertheless, the company still credits you for the visit…not your RAW stats provided by your hosting company.

Also, another PPV scam are the ones paying people to view and click on ads. They’re pretty common too.

The ones that work?

They focus on 3 major techniques.

1. Redirected traffic. Although one of the least effective out of the 3 because people are looking for an expired site and get yours, you can still get some good conversions. This is because, even though your site was NOT the one they were looking for, they still were looking for a business opportunity or whatever it is you were selling. These campaigns are keyword targeted.

2. REAL PPV traffic. Yes, pop-unders but only they’re sending real people to your site and not letting 50 others view your site (if they even have time to look at all the links) at once. Also keyword targeted.

3. Contextual traffic. By far…the MOST effective of the three. The process is simple. Ever read a blog and found certain words highlighted, hyper-linked and with double underlines underneath them? Yeah, that’s contextual advertising. You can buy them in large blocks or you can buy them by the click (not the best choice). Everyone who clicks on certain words that are highlighted (that are also keyword targeted) the PPV company will send them to your site until you’ve reached your max purchase.

Note From Dan:

This type of thing never really interests me since it’s paid for traffic that stops coming in once you stop paying, whereas SEO and achieving SERPs takes time but is somewhat permanent if you’re dominating the SERPs for your niche.  This would only interest me as a list building opportunity, not a traffic generation scheme.

I DO see the value in it if the results are there, list building is always crucial to your online business success, but once again I choose to use SEO methods to generate traffic and subscribers since it builds your sites into ASSETS that are long-lasting (hopefully).

Your business is worth the total sum value of its assets!

Traffic Generation methods are not assets, sometimes they’re just fads, but can result in building up your subscriber list, which is indeed the best asset any business could possess, so there’s 2 sides to this philosophy:

  • Use a “method” like PPC or PPV or banner advertising to build your “list asset”
  • Build your sites into assets that generate traffic and sales which creates yet another asset like your subscriber list (2 for 1 deal here!)

I will update this blog soon with results from using this, since it’s far easier to test than backlinks services.

I once did popunder advertising with clicksor. I promoted a simple message which had a testimonial for a ‘make money’ clickbank course. I think I spent about $10 and got thousands of views overnight. Next morning I’d made 2 sales and profited $20.

The funny thing is when I ran it again I made no sales. However the views are delivered incredibly fast, and from my experience it seems like you can literally setup a campaign one night and by the next night be making cash.

I do believe, given enough testing, popunders from clicksor could make for some easy money. Not sure though

Hey Anon (wish I knew a real name for you, or even a pseudonymn)…the comment in the post above said that popunders was the second best form of advertising using PPV, with the best being in-context links.

Not exactly my cup of tea here, but if I can find out how BEST to make it work within a month then yes I will recommend this.

But I’d use it for list building only since there’s a better chance for easier ROI that way.

And I’d use it to sell my products, or products that make me 100% commissions, for same reason: easier to see a good ROI that way…

I will test this out some time next week once things settle down on my end here, gotta get a few dozen things off my plate first. :)

Thanks,

Dan
