Quick update on some services

in Link Building Services

I’ve been super-busy training for my third Boston Marathon and haven’t divulged as many reviews and tests and updates as I’d like to, so here’s some quick information on what’s going on with some services we’ve been looking at and/or currently using…

NOTE: If you’d like to donate to my Boston Marathon charity, here’s the link, many many thanks in advance if you do contribute.  I’ll make a separate page on this site divulging training regimen, eating regimen, progress made, other races I’ve entered etc… if anyone’s interested.   Click here to donate please :)

Magic Submitter - have been making some improvements and might be worth doing a full scale review soon.  Review is actually under way and will be out in a month or so.

LinxBoss- they’re adding some things that no other service can provide, or will provide, and also adding more indexing power to their offering.  Their L4L will be improved soon, too.  Still having issues with people seeing their links in linkscheckers and it’s still hit or miss, and might be downgraded soon.  It’s their most regular complaint and they’re taking steps to address this, but it does improve SERPs in more cases than not still, and is a decent way to age new-ish sites until you’re ready ramp things up.

BacklinksGenie- I love this service, they provide automated links but almost as importantly, they provide a variety of links which is crucial, and almost makes them a one-stop shop.  Discount for their service coming soon.  Other types of links coming soon, too

Unique Article Wizard - might be time to put this dinosaur of a service to rest since it’s a bit of a bear to use and there’s one-time fee article submitters that GIVE YOU the urls of your articles.  However, there’s lots of little things you can do to make it more effective, but some other services don’t require a lot of added back-end effort to make their article submissions work better.   UAW also provides somewhat targeted traffic from somewhat relevant sites, and traffic to a URL IS a ranking factor, albeit a minor one and something to consider when doing article marketing…

Article Marketing Robot- Vince keeps working on making a better product here and it seems to be a product that could be a mainstay for article submissions.  Other in-the-works development stuff that will make it even better, and it’s the only service that gives you a big list of valid links of  submitted articles.

Content Crooner and Content Buzz- these both turned out to be duds, the interfaces and ease of use just aren’t there, whether it be for getting articles accepted properly o rjust being able to use these tools.

DripFeedBlasts - they raised their prices and their valid links % is not as good as other similar, easy to use automated profile linking services.

Blast Bank- they have better valid links % than DFB, but not as good as a percentage as MegaLinkblaster.  BlastBank has lower percentage of “naked links” (just url no anchor text) than MegaLinkBlaster does.

MegaLinkblaster- working well so far, but these services tend to drop drastically in effectiveness over time, but they’re also doing something too few services do; they’re advising you how to use their services effectively, not just giving out links.  They give out link reports, but their interface is atrocious and not user-friendly and they’re working on that.

LinkLicious - cool idea, I like the automation aspect since I don’t want to do any of the things it does for me, myself manually. It’s a time-saver for those interested in doing things as automated as possible, but all this can be done manually for free if you possessed the right tools

Sick Submitter - it does a lot of low end stuff, it’s a manually run tool no matter what anyone says, but it does offer some other tools beside the manual profile links building and that seems to make it worth the low monthly fee, if you are willing to order some links packets to boost the power of what it does.

Article Marketing Demon - competitor to AMR but they don’t have livelinks (at least not yet) so this might not be worth looking into  since they have similar # of directories to submit to as AMR just missing the crucial element of telling users the urls of their live articles.

Dan,

Just to specify that ArticleDemon does show you the published URLs of your articles. I wish they would add a feature soon to recheck if their are still live of not since some directories deleted my account or my articles after it was found by AD.

So far, I like it since I own BMD too thus used to the interface.

Hmm, I was told otherwise. Thanks Steve, I guess I should verify these things personally instead of just asking people who own the software.

Claudio January 11, 2011 at 8:47 pm

magic article submitter also gives you a list of urls and you can check at any time if they are approved or not (live or not)

Right, thanks Claudio. We have a review in the works for that one, too

Hey Dave,

I just recently signed up to UAW thanks to you, and I like it, but I also have AMR on my laptop and have only used it twice.

So are you now recommending we use AMR instead of UAW? Would an AMR blast be more effective than a UAW article dripfed over a month?

After realizing how resource heavy it would be to dripfeed article submissions to 50+ posts/web2.0 properties per day using AMR I realized it might be better to use UAW for dripfeeding and AMR for blasting out links. I’ve always been a little hesitant to blast links to my site as its only 3 months old and I’ve put a lot of work into the content I put on it and it would really be devastating to have it slapped.

So would you say AMR blasts are more effective than UAW submissions that are dripfed?

Sammy,

I used Ad like I mentioned earlier. But since it will take time to have all articles published, I just do a one time run and let those auto-approved appear now and others get lives when the admin will accept them. At least, that’s what I do. Soon after, I just make sure to index those auto-approved but not indexed yet like I mentioned in my post:

Cool Steve. I was actually considering using Backlinkbooster.com for that purpose based on what Dan and others have had to say about it.

Hi,

It is now you are recomending Article Marketing Robot more than Unique Article Wizard, if i’m not mistaken. Are both syndicate the article to same directory?

Reply

Daniel McGonagle January 10, 2011 at 2:43 pm

They both work in different ways both are recommended, but I think Article Marketing Robot has more bang for the buck if used repeatedly

Brian January 10, 2011 at 1:49 pm

Do you use LinkLicious ? I am also a Genie user, and they have now added an API key for LinkLicious.

Not that expensive really, but i am not sure if the service is doing anything at all. What do you think?

Reply

Daniel McGonagle January 10, 2011 at 2:45 pm

Yes, I use LL, and it seems to be doing a good job. I never used to track indexation percentages of backlinks before but for whatever reason their tool/service seems to increase the %s from before and after, so yes it’s doing something

Reply

Pete January 10, 2011 at 9:51 pm

Hi Dan,
I also use LL with BLG. I just add the links and I am not setting the advanced options at all.

But do you actually create the feed with all titles, link description and all ?

Reply

Daniel McGonagle January 10, 2011 at 10:26 pm

Hey Pete, I just let LL auto-create that stuff for me and let it ride, I don’t mess with advanced options and really don’t want to pour too much effort into indexing backlinks.

BOOSTING backlinks, YES, that I will spend some time on (tiered, layered linking stuff) but indexing them that’s a little lower on my priority list, the really crappy links I’ll try to get indexed as easily and as automated as possible, but the links of a better quality I’ll try to boost since those are worth boosting. hope this makes sense?

Reply

Pete January 10, 2011 at 10:30 pm

This is what I am doing..just want to confirm from you. BTW BLB is of no use for tiered link building.

Sammy January 11, 2011 at 10:33 pm

Pete when you say BLB are you reffering to Backlinkbooster.com?

I was considering using that service to help with the indexation and possible boosting of my links from AMR.

Dave how has Backlinkbooster.com wiled for you?

I know it’s recommended but have you found that it really ads more power to your backlinking efforts?

David January 10, 2011 at 4:01 pm

So glad you mentioned these services Dan. I actually managed to get into BuildMyRank today so I’ve added it to the arsenal. I’m thinking about dropping UAW and sticking with my current setup: Article Marketing Robot, ArticleRanks, and BuildMyRank. I’m sure including UAW in the mix would be powerful, but it hasn’t shown much fire power recently (have been a member for over a year).

What’s your thoughts on this setup?

Hey Dan,

Thanks for the update on the various link building tools. However, I didn’t see SEO Link Robot. Do you still recommend this tool. Thinking about purchasing before it goes to a monthly membership.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul, here’s the first part of the review on SEO Link Robot

Reply

Steven January 11, 2011 at 5:29 pm

In my opinion, UAW is no longer effective for link building. Yes, it spins your articles to many directories, but the links you get from them aren’t that powerful.

On top of that, the links aren’t permanent and they die pretty quickly, such as on monthly basis. Obviously, some of them stay, but I feel like I’m wasting time.

I’m leaning more towards manual submissions to high-quality, top directories. I believe that’s the best way to build up links from article sites. Of course, it’s longer, you have to get approved and all that, but it’s worth it, because in return you get proper links from authority sites and they will definitely help you in rankings.

Reply

Daniel McGonagle January 11, 2011 at 7:30 pm

Hi Steven, thanks for the feedback. While UAW is still a valuable tool if you do some back end stuff to make it work better, I’ve removed it in place of Article Marketing Robot and the article submission tool of choice…

Hi Daniel, …. :D
This is my first comment on your blog …
I have to be honest, that i really enjoy reading your great reviews on many link building services :)

I’m planning to build many micro niche adsense sites, then i want to make those sites to reach #1 on google serp as fast as possible … Do you have a recommendation which link building service is best for me Dan?

Reply

Yukko January 16, 2011 at 3:49 am

Sena, take a look at the upper menu on this blog and click on the link BEST LINK BUILDING SERVICES. Go to the page, pick up at least one service, enjoy the inbound links to your micro niche websites.

The speed of getting #1 in Google SERP is not influenced by a service, which you use to get there, the service just submits content to the directories, it is more about how competitive the search phrases, which you want to see #1 in SERP.

Reply

Yukko January 15, 2011 at 10:39 am

Hi, Daniel.

I’ve just downloaded an AMR from your link. I can tell honestly, after first run I have no wish to buy it. Why? Easy! Trial just doesn’t work. I cannot sign up for any of the given 500 directories. If you read the forum on AMR website, you can see a lot of people complaining, that something doesn’t work as expected.

I want it to work. I hope it will work for me at least one day, but it is too early to say, that AMR can replace UAW. And if I ever buy AMR I do not think, I will switch off UAW and use AMR instead. I will do links4links using both services. Both tools understand spin-templates, so, one template can be used for both, and having this possibility it will be easy to extract links from one tool and put the links to resource boxes of another tool and do vice versa.

There was a lot of issues with AMR yesterday because Vince the owner was giving AMR a complete makeover and coming out with a newer version, so it wouldn’t be surprising if it didnt work properly yesterday.

Plus… very few people would be interested to continue developing and maintaining a trial version…

Why dont you just buy the full version from Clickbank and try it for yourself, if you dont like it you can always refund it within 60days.. but I dont think you would ever want to refund after using the full version for a few times!

Yukko January 16, 2011 at 5:19 pm

>very few people would be interested

Because it is his sales channel! If he doesn’t develop it, he has no sales.

>Why dont you just buy the full version from Clickbank

I live in Ukraine. This country is a little bit “uncivilized”. It is just another part of the world, when it comes to refunds. I have all chances to get my money after 6 month, when I request it. So, before I buy it, I’d like to test it. And if I buy it, I’m sure, I do not even think about refund.

Hey Yukko.

I am a person who complains to Vince about AMR. It was upgraded to 1.0.8.0. That’s why there is a little bug in this process, but Vince fixed it very..very smooth & quickly. AMR is still upgrading to 1.0.8.1 –> 1.0.8.2. It is “the bestest and fastest” software I think.

Reply

Yukko January 21, 2011 at 6:51 pm

I’ve tested it after upgrade. It is still piece of youknowwhat. After a trial period I have a feeling, that I will never buy it. I trust Daniel, I’m his affiliate in different services, but AMR failed for me. It simply works OK for some people and doesn’t work for other people, it didn’t work for me at all. I do not like to feel myself in a casino with one time 100 dollar bid.

I will tell even more.

Nobody did say, that it works much better if you have subscription to capcha braking service, otherwise you will input capchas with your own hands.

Nobody replied my support request for AMR. To compare AMR with UAW: I’ve sent several bug reports and requests to UAW. Dave (their programmer) replies in that manner, that you can tune a stopwatch, when get his replies. I ask a question, when I have a night in my timezone, and when he has his working day in his timezone, I get a reply.

Wow, I completely agree, you have to add, the owner is an ass and a sarcastic one. I will never use his soft again. I prefer magic article submitter

I think Dan get biased sometimes. Sorry but it is true. In any case study when the owner is aware is being tested they do their best.

I will like to see test and purchases without the owner knowing they are being test.

Yukko January 22, 2011 at 6:37 am

Claudio, in general I do not care author’s personal characteristics. I do care the quality of the program itself :-) Even sarcatic people can be genious.

In real life trial is a powerful sales channel, so, it should work flawlessly.

In real life the author will support his software till the moment the author uses it for his own SEO activity (then the software will have all features working) or till the moment it is profitable to support it. And here is a trap. The author does get money from one time sales and no money for support. It means, that ones sales will go down, because all people, who were interested in software already bought it. When sales go down, it is not profitable to support the software (no more new money comes in), but a big user base will demand support… and there will be 2 ways for solving the issue:
1. make the program to be a service with a monthly subscription;
2. just deny support requests and make the somftware slowly to die without updates and improvements.

Daniel McGonagle January 22, 2011 at 12:44 pm

Claudio, not exactly sure what you mean here. I usually don’t post a review until after I’ve used a service, and if it seems pretty solid long term then I interact with the owners, try to get us a discount etc….

I’m a SERP whore biased only towards things that work, as seen here.

Personally, I think Vince from AMR and BMR admin need to extricate/separate themselves for customer support more to focus more on the offering, so they’re not doing everything. At some point they will get human and be less than cordial in some responses.

Please post any comments on AMR on the AMR post sif you don’t mind. I know Vince does one on one customer support via skype team viewer with some people so I know firsthand he’s pretty responsive and supportive, but all the time? I don’t know about that.

Hope this makes sense, if think he’s an A.. sorry ot hear that, but let’s keep it professional here ok?

save the flaming for a forum or something please

Thanks…I was hoping for a discount on the monthly subscription, not just the first month, but I believe the value you get for the price is still worth it. I believe they now have 800+ available PR3+ forums which was increased from 400. I would still like to see this increased substantially.

Also Dan, is the blog commenting platform mostly wordpress blogs? If so, the stick rate of these is very minimal, but I would use the blog commenting feature mainly to get my web 2.0′s and PR3+ profiles indexed faster, so as long as they stick long enough for this to happen, would be fine for me.

David – I signed up for Link Juice Maximizer when it was first unveiled and it’s been extremely problematic. For the first month not a single one of my links was run and that continued into the second week of January. Their support has been responsive, but you can be patient only so long before you realize your money is being wasted. They did have a cancellation policy that seemed pretty decent, but I’d rather have the service work.

When our first series of links were submitted last week I was extremely disappointed to see that almost nothing stuck. The indexing rate didn’t budge. Reluctantly I may have to cancel.

Hi, Daniel.

Take a look at this service: http://www.getgoodlinks.net/

It is an English version of very famous Russian link building service http://gogetlinks.net/. It has a completely different philosophy, than those services, which you’re used to see.

I run a campaign there. 1 link on Pr0 page is 1.8-2.9 USD (but it like a stock exchange, the price can drop and raise due to offer and demand reasons). Links are permanent, the service guarantees 3 month, that it will be there. You can also get insurance from the services for really permanent placement. 10% from the price of the link for one year insurance.

You always have the list of the pages with your links. You do not need to write posts, to spin texts etc.

The pages with links are checked by the service, that they are indexed by Google. If the page is not indexed, the system drops the rating to the website. You see this rating of the website, before you buy a link there, so, you can skip them. If the page with you link is not indexed in 45 days, you have money back automatically. In order to avoid loosing money, webmasters always put you links on the pages in index and always check, that these pages remain in the index.

If you need more details, you can contact me, I can write a small report for your website.

“Still having issues with people seeing their links in linkscheckers and it’s still hit or miss, and might be downgraded soon.”

Can you expand on “linkscheckers”? What is that and why is it bad?

Reply

Daniel February 1, 2011 at 10:17 pm

A links checker would be something like Yahoo Site Explorer. And people tend to focus too much on the # of links shown here as opposed to seeing rankings improvements, which is really the most important end-all, be-all for link building efforts, right?

Just read that you will be reviewing magic submitter.
I’ve beena member twice and been very dissapointed with the effort that went in to making sure that the sites were kept up to date with sign up and submission changes. I create maybe 3 wheels a week, and every single time (and I mean every single time bar none) i had to mess about and recode so many sites that it dawned on me I would be much quicker just joining them by hand. Aleks added new features like there was no tomorrow – He seems a nice bloke and quite talented. But services like this rely on the core “just working”. I got short shrift on the forums – the stock answer to my gripe that “Wordpress doesn’t work again” was “well MS allows you to fix it yourself, so why are you moaning”

Here’s a link to my last attempt to get the thing to run a few weeks back.

http://www.yourmetalife.com/?p=229

Notice different errors for most of them – along the lines of “sign up box not found” and “password field missing” and “cannot find URL” “can’t locate sign up botton” “can’t locate text field”
All site coding errors. Which I – as a user and subscriber – was just supposed to fix myself – every flipping time I wanted to use it.
Nice technical software – terrible maintenance of core functionality.

HI

I tried AMR and I did not get good result on it.
What I did was submitting a spun article to hundreds of article directories at once rather than a few everyday.
I am going to try a few a day.

I have AMD but I do not know how to use it.
I will give it a try some time later.
