SEO Link Vine Review and Results

in SEO Link Vine

SEO Link Vine is NOT Recommended, Syndication of your content is poor, minimal, and it's not worth the effort

Before we begin, I’d like to give Brad Callen a special thanks for giving me access to SEO Link Vine so I could give some feedback and start an SEO Link Vine review while it was closed during their down time between doors-open-for-first-100-members and the Official Launch.

The Callens are brand names in the Adsense, Article Marketing, IM world so I’m sure there will be tons of reviews and review sites out there espousing the virtues and benefits of this service despite the fact that it’s fairly new.

About the test:

I chose a combination of keyword/anchor text/urls that were main domain names, inner pages, and all sites have links to them already.

There’s a saying in SEO as applied to link building that, “if you’re not building links, then you’re not in motion” so I’m of the opinion (as are many other knowledgeable SEO folks) that it’s better to test the effectiveness of your link building efforts on sites that aren’t new, that already have steady inbound linking activity, and of course, are properly optimized for best reception of inbound links.

Competition levels for tested URLs and expectations:

Many were exact match keyword in domain names that should be receptive to some good quality links

Some only got Sick Profile Maker profiles links, which is why they were not on page 1, basically… so newer, higher-quality links like article marketing links should provide the necessary boost to achieve Page 1 rankings with one submission.

As mentioned previously, SEO LV is new, and the price probably isn’t going to go up any time soon, so if you’re patient enough, bookmark this page and wait a few weeks for the results, which aren’t ready yet since the submissions are en route.

Anchor text/url #1

  • Rankings before SEO Link Vine A.K.A. SEO LV - Google Dancing at top of page 2.. bottom of page 1
  • Results  -Ranked #6 3 weeks later, but ZERO articles got picked up by SEO LV (had other links coming in that I couldn’t stop)

Anchor text/url 2

  • Rankings before SEO LV -  Google Dancing at top of page 2… bottom of 1
  • Results  – Ranked #6 3 weeks later, but ZERO articles got picked up by SEO LV (had other links coming in that I couldn’t stop)

Anchor text/url 3

  • Rankings before SEO LV – Pretty solid top of page 2, occasionally at bottom of page 1
  • Results  – no change 3 weeks later….ZERO articles got picked up by SEO LV

Anchor text/url 4 New term, sort of

  • Rankings before SEO LV  – page 4 and rising
  • Results  – 3 articles got picked up by SEO LV network, went from page 4 to page 3, and dropping

Anchor text/url 5

  • Rankings before SEO LV – Page 4-5 from profile linking and very minimal BLSes and one EzarticleLink article
  • Results  -  Page 3 now

Anchor text/url 6

  • Rankings before SEO LV – pretty solid top half of page 2 with some Free Traffic System articles and minimal BLS-es
  • Results  – 3 articles got picked up by SEO LV network, went from page 2 to page 1, and settled back to original position at top of page 2

Anchor text/url 7

  • Rankings before SEO LV – appearing sporadically in SERPs on pages 4-7 and ranked lower than another on-site URL optimized for same keywords that’s getting lots of links, (possible proximity factor here causing this url to rise up as other url gets more links and link juice being passed to this “related post”) Read about proximity factors
  • Results -3 articles got picked up, now on page 3 for this term (competitive)

The VERDICT?

It seems like SEO LV doesn’t give a lot of links, but the ones you get are somewhat effective.

We published articles in the meganiches of SEO, Make money, MLM, Computer, and Health but not a lot of articles syndication was done, like 6 or 7 at most, and some articles for some niches have yet to get syndicated anywhere else, so I’m testing out various other ways to make it distribute and syndicate more, but it’s been kind of disappointing to see so few articles get distributed thus far.

I cannot recommend it at this time, since the price is too high just for getting 6-7 links  a month

We’re in 2d month of testing SEO Link vine and what we noticed is that when you set notification/submission setting to 1-3 day you’ll get very few links.  So we’ve changed this to 10/day notification and more and more articles are being accepted.

Even with the 6-7 links one testing url got, rankings improved from page 6 to page 3, bottom of page 2.  As more articles get accepted, url impressions and site traffic is increasing, too therefore these articles are being placed on relevant sites, which is good.

In my opinion, things will drastically improve now that submissions rate and article syndication increases, therefore the verdict thus far is cautiously optimistic.

Last test/verdict, whatever

Not Recommended, at all, waste of time and money.  Almost everyone I’ve spoken to has said that syndication is poor, just doesn’t happen, as this is consistent with what the forums are saying and is backed up by my personal experience, sorry Brad.

Daniel, as a side note do you think Google is cracking down on weak links and sniper sites? You heard the de-indexing of Alan Liew? Atop the make money online category for a few years then poof, his blogger site taken out. Any thoughts?

Google’s been cracking down and removing or deleting tons of bloggers blogs, so it’s probably more of a cleaning-house things than an “attack” on sniper sites. I doubt his site was a sniper sites, maybe more of an authority site perhaps, in order to get tops for the MMO keyphrase.

That’s why I STILL think guys like the Griz (makemoneyforbeginners.blogspot.com) are nuts to have so much depend on a site they don’t own nor control, really.

Regarding the MMO keyphrase, I see a lot less of the web 2.0 sites ranking where they used to for that phrase ( there used to be another blogger blog ranked well for that term maybe it was that guy Alan’s).

Squidoo and HubPages have been cleaning house lately, too.

Maybe an after effect of all those bots and software that can automatically make these types of web properties, who knows, not me :)

It’ll be interesting to see your results. Just reading the sales page it sounds exactly the same as My Article Network. All of Callen’s guru buddies are promoting it like it’s the greatest thing ever so I guess we’ll see.

OK, hopefully it’s something different and unique…

Speaking of guru buddies, check out this email I received, my reply to it is in bold:

    Hi Daniel,

To make a long story short, I did a
webinar a few weeks ago on $100 Bill
    Drop Cards to create leads.

    http://www.100DollarBillDropCardReview.com

Anyway, when I was pulled into providing
drop cards to clients 6-7 years ago,
we were the only game in town.

Since that time, many of our 1 time
    customers and others have created
    competing websites.

Quite frankly, I had not paid any
attention to any of this until recently
which was the reason for the webinar.

At one time we were the only website that
offered the bills, now there are
dozens, which has really helped our
    business because more marketers are
    aware of this excellent tool.

But I am competitive,so half frustrated
I decided to get our primary site for
    this lead generation tool:
    ……. back on
the front page of google for the
    keyword phrase:

    $100 Bill Drop Cards

NOTE FROM DAN: An incredibly easy term to rank for…

In less than a week we were back on
the front page. Day 5 #3 and on Day #6 we
    jumped to #1 on Google.

NOTE FROM DAN: Where the REAL BS starts….

Also for the very competitive keyword term
mlm training, almost 1 1/2 MILLION
    websites listed in Google.

We have 2 Sites in the Top 5.

    NOTE FROM DAN: AGED DOMAINS

Now, I know what you are thinking.

    How are you doing this?

I almost hesitate to tell you, but
I have had several emails from good
clients and customers asking me to
write about this. I was going to save
this for our no fluff newsletter, but
decided to go ahead and get this to
    you.

    I don’t feel comfortable putting
this on my blog, but I don’t mind
sending an email to our subscribers.

In a word, how I am doing this?

    BACKLINKS

I use a couple of tools, but my
    coaching clients who received an
    email earlier today know that
    the tool I suggest at:

Yes, I originally was just going to
reveal this to my paid coaching clients,
but truth is, I appreciate each and
everyone of my subscribers & that
    includes you Daniel !!

So here is the “BACKLINK SECRET”

I hope you have an awesome Tuesday!

    Dale

PS If you have been marketing online
anytime at all and delt with SEO, you
    know things are constantly evolving
and changing, the one concept that
has seemed to remain consistent is
Google views a link to your website as
a VOTE. The more votes the higher
your rank, so that is why they are
    so important.

    This is BS Dale…

I know it launched today, and a few dozens of people got in last week
but its VERY Misleading to say seo lv is the reason why your aged
domains got ranked for the terms they did.

I’m disappointed in you and am a fan, still

    Hi Dan,

Great site on link building services. I had an seolinkvine membership for about 2 weeks and submitted about ten articles (the account is still active although I have cancelled already)

One thing that I didn’t like about the service, was that my articles were of high quality yet I still received some rejections. And as of now, the system is slow in distributing articles due to an influx of new members during launch.

Anyway I look forward to your results. I may reconsider joining once everything is ironed out.

    Reply

Daniel McGonagle May 6, 2010 at 7:22 pm

I agree with the slowness factor. As far as getting articles accepted, that’s interesting, because medium and high quality article sin My Article Network got published at about a 80% acceptance rate, so not sure what issue is there.

Thanks for the feedback and comment,

I’m curious to see what type of results you end up with. I recently signed up for SEO Link Vine as well, mainly out of curiosity but also to check to see if it helps me with my link building at all – and to tell you the truth it looks like there’s a lot of room for people to abuse the system so I’m kinda leary, but the proof will be in the pudding I guess. I’m kinda leary that the sales pitch talked about building 1000′s of links very quickly, but won’t something like that look kinda unnatural to search engines? To give my approach a more natural look I’m basically only letting each article get published once a day max, the option to push an article out 10 times a day might be promoting unnatural looking link building. But, as I mentioned, the proof will be in the results so I’m excited to see what happens with my target keyword rankings.

Luke, the links aren’t coming fast and furiously for me in my tests with this, and I used one general marketing niche topic and one health topic, so probably nothing to fear here regarding overlinking.

And as I stated here in this post, Over linking will hurt your rankings efforts overlinking is sort of a myth and easily avoided.

Nobody can explain to me yet how this network is different from My Article Network aside from the extra features like drop-down kw suggestions in spinning area, rankings tracking, etc…

    Hi Dan

I’ve been using SEO Link Vine for a week or so now, and their ranking tool was a feature I was interested in. However, it is coming up with some very strange results compared to the Google Monitor for Cleverstat that I also use, which I have found to be very accurate.

    Reply

Daniel McGonagle May 8, 2010 at 3:11 pm

Yeah, the rankings tracker is a good feature but there are plenty of free ones out there, so its not a true value-add to the service like the word suggestion portion of the spinner…All that REALLY matters is, how does network perform?

    Reply

Chris Scott May 8, 2010 at 4:12 pm

Yes, obviously the performance of the network is primary. As stated in other comments the network was operating very slowly just after launch, however I submitted some articles today, and they were approved within a few hours. It will be interesting to see the performance of the links from these articles.

I am using almost all link building services available and i have started SLV since the moment it opened. I just wanted to make a comment on people saying the articles are not getting approved. As per my experience this is due to the fact that most people are trying to sneak into other categories that are not relevant with their article and then you cnnot expect that people will accept those on unrelated blogs. I do think this is a great feature and what will eventually medium long term make the system a winner. ( I am not in IM market and i never use affiliate links of the products, this is a completly unsolicited testimonial) . Regarding results i got about 90% acceptance, and 600 articles published. So far i cannot say in last 3, 4 weeks that I got results as i believe is still pretty soon to take conclusions. As per continuing using the system i will for sure use it for another at least 3, 4 months otherwise i won’t be able to compare it with any other system i am using atm. i do use BLS,1waylinks,UAW,link juicer and used AMA( gave up from the last one as wasn’t really working for me, after about 6 months i didint measure any resonable results tbh).
    best regards all

will do… on the same SLV topic i must admit that the contest that brad put up, have probably had a lot value to the network as it was teorethically an incentive to ppl get those high pr blogs into the network, the question is wether these people is keeping the blogs up or just add them to the porpouse of winning… i had myself about 60 of my blogs with pr between 0 and 2 and didnt stood a chance to the top 10 players, so i im assuming tht those people put a lot of high pr blogs into it…

Daniel, thanks for all of the killer information here.

Your experience with SLV seem very different than mine so far submitting four (high quality) health related articles in less than the last two weeks and have them approved with a 98% acceptance rate, published 95 times so far and well over a 200 links combined total.

My main keyword phrase which I included in every article has over 100 extra backlinks and got a double listing (not there before). It has been dancing in the top 5 positions.

It is only now that I am doing any kind of off-site SEO such as link building so there are few other factors right now which could be responsible,

Realize it is way to early to make any definite conclusions about the efficacy of doing this diligently but at least for now the initial results show that at least something is moving.

Will probably add unique article wizard to the mix in a few weeks after seeing more clearly where the current trend is going. Hope this helps the discussion here.

David, thanks a lot for your feedback. What we did was submit spun PLR content to SEO LV and the acceptance rate for all articles was 30%, with some articles not even getting 1 single acceptance. So we’re going back to the drawing board here and will do what we should have done in first place: write high quality unique articles.

David, has SEO LV and links obtained from using it helped your rankings much?

Hi, thanks for the question, seems like our account got deleted, then added back in again, but now that is is syndicating properly we’re getting a decent number of links. Some of the newer sites have dropped out of the serps for a bit, which is a sign of a lot of new links being noticed, and also a sign of possible higher rankings with their re-appearance in serps.

I found my way here through a link on the warrior forum and pleased to find it!

I’ve been using SEOLV since day one. It’s my first use of a backlinking service although I’ve just signed up with Article Ranks. So I can’t compare with other services.

So far I’m very happy with SEOLV. I’ve only added 8 articles to the system in a couple of niches and I’ve got my articles published 313 times – 81% acceptance rate. 2 of my sites have hit the number one spot for their keywords – they were already at #5 & #7 and the phrases were low comp so I might have hit #1 in time anyway.

One keyword is very competitive and I’ve struggled for a year to get off page 2. I’m now sitting at #7 and I’m convinced this is due to 2 articles on SEOLV.

I have my own blogs in the system to accept articles. This hasn’t been so successful due to the fact that I get so many articles that are not in my niches. The articles are high quality but I have to reject them because they don’t suit my blogs. I think this is because SEOLV doesn’t have enough categories and article writers are dropping articles into as many cats as they can.

SEOLV is only 2 months old and closed at the moment while they grow the blog network. I’m happy with it so far and will give it a few more months. The goal is to get my #7 keyword at #1 and hopefully SEOLV will help me do this!

Having found this site I can see there are plenty of other options to try too!

I made same mistake of setting limit too low, you should set it to 20/day at least, keeping in mind that 20 submitted may not mean 20 published/day, nor mean 20 indexed backlinks/day either. I think it’s an effective network for time being, though and have seen expected results from it

Chris Koltai June 14, 2010 at 11:44 pm

My experience was similar to Bob Lee’s.

650ish word article rewritten to 98%, submitted under a few different tech categories.

    Day 1: 3 publishes
    Day 2 through 7: 13 total submissions, 9 approved, 4 pending, 5 published, 0 rejected.

Refunded, and I pretty much never refund.

Most of the people who have posted positive reviews seem to be promoting in the health and IM niche. I have a sneaking suspicion that those are the 2 primary niches represented in the blog network.

I’ll be going back to Unique Article Wizard to handle my “volume” links. I was hoping for SEOLV to snatch me away from their clunky interface, but I’ll have to wait for another competing service I suppose.

Regarding UAW, yep, live and learn I guess. I get distracted by shiny new things, and I love the possibility of trying something and have it take my link building efforts to the next level.

That article you linked to is great, much appreciated. I’ll keep that in mind. With in-text links, however, I tend to feel safer publishing content specific to my subniche due to the possibility of manual review. I’m honestly not sure if this paranoia is valid or not, but it’s just been how I roll :P

That would be a terrible idea, as you won’t get much syndication with SEO LV

Great review. I love your site, Daniel. Always come here to check out your reviews of any service and system, even if I want to get them to do a review myself. :)

I won free access to SEOLV in one of the competitions and have been regularly using it ever since. Record was 105 publishes for one article. Mostly, I get about 30-50 publishes (over a period of several weeks) per article. Not stellar, but not too bad, either.

However, something like Article Ranks is definitely better and I regularly get over 100 publishes for the articles I send there.

    Cheers,
    Shane

Hey Shane thanks for stopping by, and for the feedback.

SEO LV’s major problemo is lack of syndication. Their network isn’t much different that MAN, AMA, 1wl, or even Article Ranks network, I suspect, so I’m really not understanding why syndication is so poor.

Imagine… 30minutes, more likely 60 minutes to write and spin an article.. to get 30-50 backlinks?

Comparing that to what Article Ranks does and AR is hands-down winner. I get more than 100 links per article submitted to AR, but you average 100, which is far superior to any numbers I’ve heard from people using SEO LV.

Yeah, I don’t see why syndication is so low with SEOLV, either. It also seems to be erratic, with some articles getting a good amount of publishes and other’s hardly getting picked up at all…

Bottom line: You can get more links for your time and money elsewhere.

    Hi Daniel,

Can you explain about the articles you submitted to SOLV? Did you write the articles yourself? Did you spin the articles prior to submitting them to the system?

Daniel McGonagle August 29, 2010 at 8:28 am

Wrote articles myself, spun them and submitted….

SEO LV’s major problem is all that major effort frequently results in very minor syndication and backlinks… There’s only a few niches that get widespread content via SEO LV, and UAW is still hands-down winner for # of backlinks created per article written

    Hi Daniel,

I have been running SEO LV for a few months now and I wish I had read your review before I started as I am not that impressed.

    The main issues:
1.The that the blogs the articles are published on are maily junk as you said Bad Syndication. Some of the articles are actually published with my links as no-follow so they are useless!
2.The number of pubished articles are not reaching big numbers (max 100) even though they have a very low rejection rate and are in a very popular niche! Again low syndication.
    3. I cannot log into the Customer Support as they never send me a confirmation email.

If I was in a narrow niche I would not bother! They desperatly need to broaden their syndication to make it work!

Is UAW better than Article Ranks?

Hey Mick, thanks for stopping by, and for sharing what is unfortunately a common experience with SEO Link Vine.

Is UAW better than Article Ranks, yes I think so, since there’s so much (more) you can do with UAW

    Hi Daniel,

I have read your blog in the past when i was researching UAW and i purchased it after reading your review. Unfortunately i don’t quite remember the content but so far it’s worked ok for me. I’m not sure if i’m doing things wrong or not but i’m not entirely satisfied with UAW or maybe i’m just too greedy who knows…

This time i landed on your blog because of the new rank builder launch. 20,000 backlinks all built automatically sounds too enticing however i would like a real case study before i jump in. While doing some reading and thanks to your interlinking anchor texts i ended up on this post. Yes you moved me off course with your stray anchor text links…

I have been a member of SEO Link Vine (SEOLV) for since it launched and i will try to report my experiences here as best as i can.

    1. SEOLV similar to AMA (Article Marketing Automation)?
Short answer, YES. I used AMA in the past and the they are very very similar except the fact that SEOLV has a better user interface. I think the syndication in AMA is a little more powerful than SEOLV. One thing they both have in common, weak, low traffic, and spam sites

    2. How Many Links?
My first article was submitted on May 13th, 2010 at this moment it has been published a total of 52 times.
The most links i got from a submitted article is 89 and i average about 50 links per submission.

    3. How I Submit My Articles IN SEOLV
I rewrite every single sentence at least 4 times as well as the title. When submitting i choose as many categories as i can without being too off topic. I set my submission rate to the maximum allowed which is 10. Results websites pick up my articles over time but unfortunately so far i’ve averaged about 50 (this is a rough estimate by no means have i actually calculated this) submissions per article.

    4. My search Engine Results:
I build niche websites with few articles between 12 to 30 articles per site. My sites have all been indexed, and i have many listings on the first page of google. Alas only a few keywords are in position 1 the rest are position 4 or lower meaning far less traffic.

    5. My strategy.
Since my articles are spun and LEGIBLE i can submit them to article sites as well as a few web2.0 properties. I submit my articles to Ezinearticles, goArticles, ArticlesBase as well as squidoo and hubpages.
You’re allowed up to 3 anchor texts when submitting to SEOLV. I rewrite everything 4 times meaning i have a total of 12 links to play with. Every final version of my articles will have 2 links pointing to my main site and pointing to the properties mentioned above. This takes time and i really hate it. That’s why i pay someone to do it for me.

    6. One Trick I started Using
I’m not sure i’m allowed to do this and i really don’t want people who read this to abuse it because frankly almost all of the articles i receive from other SEOLV users are total crap.
Now Matt or Brad Callen (don’t know who owns this service) states that as new blogs are added they will automatically receive articles that are in queue. That’s not happening fast enough. Because i’m concentrating mostly on SEOLV for my backlinking solutions i need more backlinks and since my content will certainly almost always be unique i decided to resubmit my articles in the system.

My thinking is that since i average about 50 links maybe doing a resubmission over a period of time will greatly improve my backlinks. I’m testing this right now. We’ll see how things go.

Now i need to do more research on this blog to see what other resources i can use for backlinks and i also need someone to review rank builder. I do want those 20,000 backlinks.

Daniel this has been my longest comment ever and for that i apologize.

No sweat,it was a good read! :) SEO LV is/was a major bomb, you’ll get more indexed backlinks with Article Ranks, guaranteed.

Re-purposing and re-submitting is a good idea, do that in UAW too

Interesting site; I’m still new and quite confused about the whole backlinking and page ranking process, but with relevant info like this, I’ll be on my way – thank you!

    Hello Daniel,

As you say, SEOLV is not great at syndicating your articles, but let’s say you submit 1 article to the network and it gives you 50 links within a period of 3 months, and then you decide to take 10 spun versions of that article and submit them again to the network. Would I be wrong in thinking you would get 50 X 10 articles submitted within 3 months?

Daniel McGonagle September 15, 2010 at 12:11 pm

Yes, you could do that, but if there’s little syndication now, don’t know why there’d be any reason to wait a few months to syndicate same article again, especially when you can do this with UAW anyway, but to a larger distribution network

Been using SEOLV for a month. Sent it a about 15 spun articles. Supposedly I have 200 articles published. Doesn’t show up in my Yahoo link count yet. Sounds like I may be wasting my time and effort with SEOLV from reading all the comments. I think I will quite SEOLV and start using UAW instead.

Also using My Article Network , appartently they are worthwhile according to Dan, so I’ll keep using them.

I have been using SEOLV for about a month. Supposedly I have 275 links created with them. I use Traffic Travis to the links I have. Don’t see anything I can attribute to SEOLV. Also use Rank Builder. the Web 2.0 links show up fairly quickly.

How long should it take for my links to “show up” ? Not sure if SEOLV is doing anything at all for me. Recently started using UAW and Linx Boss as well.

Hmmm ok so I briefly checked out the webinar replay from last night, which was of course promoting SEO link vine, trying to get new members. It’s enticing, those 20,000 backlinks, but now after seeing this website I think I’m going to stick to my Traffic Magnet with Ross Goldberg. That’s what I use for backlinks, mainly press releases, videos, etc. You know you can also hire guys on Warrior forum to submit your articles via SEO link vine + several other similar services. And the prices aren’t bad at all, beats $67 a month. Thanks for the reviews everyone. Appreciate it!
