If you’re a first-time visitor to this site (linkvanareviews.com) then you might be overwhelmed with some of the different levels of link building tips and SEO articles on here, so I thought I’d get back to basics with some link building tips for newbies.

And even for you advanced SEO-ers and readers, it’s still always good to revisit link building fundamentals.

What are links and backlinks?

Consider them votes by other sites and virtual web properties that vote you up in the search engines’ eyes.  Generally speaking, the more links you get, the better.  However, there’s always more value given to quality backlinks over lower-quality backlinks, and a few quality backlinks could do as much for you as 2000 low-quality spam links like hreferrer spam links.

Here’s some quick tips for building links to new and aged sites; a Link building cheat sheet if you will…

For new sites, I find it best practice to build links after the site is a month or two old, and has 10-15 indexed pages or posts on it.

After that, you want to consider the percentage (%) of where your building links TO… Most webmasters just hammer the main site url with backlinks and don’t spread the link acquisition around to build links towards inner pages.

Link building – Does it take a long time to see the effects?

If you own a web site and want to achieve rankings to get good traffic to it, then you know that link building is an important part of achieving that goal…

But how freakin’ long does it take to get results?

Some SEOs (professional SEO people) say that it takes 30-60 days to see results…  That’s only partially true…

The answer is:  IT DEPENDS…

If there’s little to no competition for the keywords you’re trying to achieve rankings for, you’ll see results quickly due to the non-competitive nature of those terms…
